Project Planning, Tracking, & Reporting
o
Notify Test Analyst/Sr. Test Analyst upon identifying any issues that can affect the project schedule.
o
Support the project team(s) in evaluating risks and shuffle priorities based on unresolved issues.
o
May participate in project level review meetings.
o
May assist Test Lead in creating and documenting Project Test Plan.
Creation & Execution
o
Understand functional specifications and ensure all queries are resolved by interaction with Lead or
Manager.
o
Prepare test data by utilizing available data within the project team and making/creating necessary
modifications for the new project, using Components when possible.
o
Create, execute, and store test cases in a test script repository based on the use cases, high level
requirement scenarios, Project Test Plan, and the supplemental requirements, as per the test plan and
within the schedule.
o
May create automated test scripts.
o
Will review test cases and may review automated test scripts to ensure they match project requirements.
o
Test all requirements and supporting specifications using the test cases. Remove any duplicate, invalid,
and out-of-scope scenarios from the test cases.
o
Verify actual versus expected test results. Review unexpected results for origination of the issue (test
data, requirements, coding).
o
Submit clear, concise, and complete issues to the appropriate parties using the issue management tool.
o
Review that the issues documented by Trainee Test Engineers/Test Engineers are clear, complete, and
concise.
o
Execute the test plan by retesting issues until closure.
o
Review tests and results for correctness and comprehensiveness to ensure they match project
requirements.
o
Participate in the Test Execution walkthrough with the team and Test Lead.
o
Participate in documenting any trends emerging from the Test Execution Review.
o
Participate in gathering of summary test execution data and deriving the requisite testing metrics from it.
o
May assist the Test Analyst to prepare Test Strategy
Documentation
o
Log the test results by identifying specific tests that succeeded/failed.
o
Document complete and accurate test results.
Process Management
o
Adhere to project process.
o
Participate in root cause analysis.
Coaching
o
Coach other associates on a variety of skills including how to create test cases, technical assistance,
test environment usage, test data setup, document issues, and how to evaluate risk with uncovered
defects.
